 C.A.W. Local 1285 is an amalgamated Local
comprised of 14 Units, representing over 5000 members. Ourmembership also includes 800 + Retirees, who have
struggled in the past to change the status quo and continue to do so.
As your leadership, our objective is to bring democracy to the workplace, which is an important
aspect of peoples lives. We will continue to bargain collectively for gains in wages, pensions, benefits, job
security & working conditions, while ensuring the concerns of our members are being addressed.
As a Union, we can only be effective if the membership knows that the Union
truly belongs to the members. We encourage participation of all members, and
view all our Sisters & Brothers as equals. It is your support & strength, which enables us to achieve our goals.
